Panda #4

Here are 4 short poems from Kahlil Gibran:

It is wiser for the lame not to break his crutches upon the head of his enemy.

We are all prisoners but some of us are in cells with windows.

Sadness is but a wall between two gardens.

Give me an ear and I will give you a voice.

Directions:  1)  Read the short poem  2)  Write 3 sentences or more about what you think it means.  3) you may get help.

Example: Give me an ear and I will give you a voice.

This poem is about how two people can show each other care. It means that being a good listener is important. If someone gives me their ear, that means that they are listening to me. If they listen, then I will talk. Without their ear, I would not want to say anything to them. In the end, it's a great thing to be kind and listen. It shows that you respect the person who is talking.
