Zebra #5

SWBAT (Student will be able to) change words ending in -y to words with -ier and -iest.  The words will change meaning and show comparison.

Lesson:  When you have a word like "happy," you can compare things by dropping the -y and adding -ier.  This would change the word to happier.  This means more happy.  Also, if you change the -y to -iest, then you would have happiest.  This changes the meaning of the word to most happy.

Example:  happy, happier, happiest

Please change the following words by changing the endings.

1) dizzy
2) heavy
3) hungry
4) pretty
5) drowsy

Now, please use the new words in sentences.  You should have 10 sentences total.

Example:

The girl was happier in her new school because she made new friends.

The child was the happiest boy in the class when his name was picked for a raffle.
