Panda #16

If you don't understand a word in any of the Blog directions, please use your dictionary!

This assignment will give you practice with contractions.  Remember, the word contract means become smaller.  So, in grammar, when we take two words, combine them, take out a letter or more, and add an apostrophe, the result is a contraction.

Directions:

1) Please write the words and the contraction.
 
2)  Write one sentence using the original two words.
 
3)  Write the second sentence with the contraction.

Example:

they would

they'd

They would be happy with a two layer cake instead of the three layer cake for the wedding.

Every time the students watched a movie together, they'd make popcorn and sit on the floor.
