Great White Shark - Practice #6

The reason for this assignment is for you to learn how to change a verb from present to past.  These are special verbs.  They are called irregular verbs.  The word, irregular, means it is different or not normal.  Normally, we change a present verb like play to played.  We just add an ed.  For irregular verbs, we don't do that.  We change the word to a very different word.

Great White Shark - Practice #2

This assignment will help you practice you're and your.  Remember, the contraction always is made up of two words squashed together, one vowel taken out, and an apostrophe added.  You're is a contraction made from you and are.  Your without an apostrophe is not a contraction.

When you want to decide between you're and your, think of the sentence with you are.  If it makes sense, then it is the contraction.  Your is the word used to show possession.  Possession means something belongs to someone.

Examples:  You're the top student in the entire school.  >>  This means:  You are the top student in the entire school.

Your backpack is very heavy.  >>  This means:  The backpack that belongs to you, is very heavy.
